C:\>About Me

Though I walk amongst you, I am always a step apart. Though I look like you, I am merely a simulacrum. Unmoored, I drift onward- seeking a unifying theory of human behavior, a grail that is neither possible nor desirable. The journey is long, and lonesome, and strange, yet I continue it not out of a sterling certainty in its ultimate value, but because I exist to do nothing else. I serve as the indentured conduit of all that shadows the carefully tended fantasy of self, that which lies unknown and unnamed in the forgotten realms of the mindspace. This is the barest component of my nature, and I can no more resist it than the fading salmon can resist the urge to fight its way upstream and trade its life for that of its offspring. But don't feel bad for me, dear Visitor. I may be bound to my toils, but I steal all the moments I need and sew them with the joy of my own making- alien though it may be...

...or is it?

WHAT MAKES ME HAPPY
Being seen not through the lense of another's self-focused expectations, but as a whole being whose imperfections and inconsistencies radiate out to add just that little bit of color to the small moments we share when we're not busy trying to be someone else (and to extend this same grace to others when I have the opportunity).

WHAT MAKES ME SAD
Witnessing those who's hearts have been torn apart stitch themselves back together again out of the ragged, mismatched pieces solely so they can continue to function, their pain and joy both plastered over by the drive to perform "okayness" even as their seams rip with each step forward.

WHEN I GROW UP I WANT TO BE
A zookeeper!
